Registered Nurse (RN) – PRN (Hospital & Nursing Home)

Position Summary
The PRN Registered Nurse (RN) provides high-quality patient care on an as-needed basis in hospital and nursing home environments. This role supports facility leadership, collaborates with interdisciplinary teams, and ensures safe, compliant, and compassionate nursing care across varying patient populations.
Key Responsibilities
Provide direct patient care in hospital and nursing home settings as assigned
Perform patient assessments and monitor patient conditions
Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders
Assist with care coordination and communication among healthcare providers
Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and standards, including HIPAA
Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential patient medical records
Follow infection control, safety, and emergency protocols to protect patients and staff
Adapt quickly to different units, workflows, and patient care environments
Support facility leadership and nursing staff as needed
Ensure quality patient care by adhering to therapeutic and professional nursing standards
Required Skills & Competencies
Strong clinical nursing skills, including assessment, medication administration, and patient monitoring
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Flexibility and adaptability in fast-paced and changing care environments
Effective communication and teamwork skills
Proficiency in medical documentation while maintaining patient confidentiality
Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and compliance requirements
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (Required)
Minimum of 3 years Registered Nurse experience (Required)
Prior experience in hospital or long-term care/nursing home settings preferred
Licensure & Certifications
Active Louisiana State Registered Nursing License (Required)
BLS and ACLS Certification (Required)
Physical & Work Requirements
Ability to stand, walk, lift, and assist patients as required by assignment
Willingness to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
