The Caregiver/Sitter will provide routine individualized health care such as changing, bathing, grooming and dressing for the elderly in patients home or in a care facility. Also, the Caregiver will monitor and report changes in health status and may provide additional care such as light housekeeping, meal prep and assist with making lists.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Cares for patients by changing bed linens, laundry, cleaning, bathing, or assisting with personal care. Provides patients with help moving in and out of beds, baths, wheelchairs, or automobiles and with dressing and grooming.
- Maintains records of patient care, conditions, progress, or problems to report and discusses observations with supervisor and documents in Elite binder located in the home.
- Entertains, converses with, or reads aloud to patients to keep them mentally healthy and alert.
- Gives reminders on prescribed oral medications as prescribed by physician or as directed by home care nurse or aide, and ensures patients take their medicines.
- Provides patients and families with emotional support.
- Massages patients or applies preparations or treatments such as ointments, alcohol rubs, or heating pads.
- Accompanies clients to doctors’ offices or on other trips outside the home, providing transportation, assistance, and companionship if needed.
