The Nursing Assistant is responsible for performing basic care such as feeding and bathing patients, as well as performing other duties to assist patients with daily activities. The ideal candidate for this position is passionate about helping seniors and is comfortable working in a supportive environment. The Nursing Assistant will be exposed to many different types of environments including nursing homes, long term care facilities, rehabilitation centers, acute care facilities, schools, hospitals and geriatrics. This position will allow the successful candidate to work one-on-one with residents and patient families.

Responsibilities:

• Provide basic and intermediate level nursing care in the home environment.
• Provide basic medical care such as organizing the medical files, preparing patient materials, and applying dressings.
• Work under the direct supervision of a registered nurse or physician.
• Provide basic home health care such as dressing wounds, applying and removing casts, giving baths, and taking blood pressure.
• Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respirations, height and weight of patients in a nursing home or other institutional setting.
• Teach activities of daily living to patients in a nursing home or other institutional setting.
• Assist with rehabilitation services such as physical therapy for patients in a nursing home or other institutional setting.
• Monitor patients' conditions at all times; respond appropriately to emergencies and accidents.
